How to stop Lovable burning through your credits

Why the balance drops so fast

Lovable charges each Default Mode message by complexity. Its pricing page gives examples from 0.50 credits (make a button gray) to 1.70 credits (a landing page with images). Plan Mode costs 1 credit per message.

Since June 2026 one balance pays for building, Cloud hosting and AI features inside your app, so a live app with traffic or in-app AI keeps drawing credits even when you are not prompting.

Know which credits expire first

The 5 daily build credits expire at the end of each day. Monthly plan credits expire two months after they are issued (monthly billing). Top-up credits last twelve months. Spend the daily grant first, then monthly credits.

Turn on limits and alerts

Since October 2026, paid workspaces can set credit thresholds per workspace, project or member, with email or in-app alerts, or a hard block when the limit is reached. Set one before a long build session.

Habits that cut the burn

Agree a plan in Plan Mode before letting the agent edit. Batch small edits into one message. Name the exact page or component. After two failed fix attempts, revert and rephrase instead of repeating "still broken".
