Past your limits, usage credits bill at standard API rates (per token, e.g. Sonnet 5.5 $2 in / $10 out per 1M).
What a credit buys: No fixed message count. Claude Code shares one usage pool with Claude chat; limits reset on a rolling 5-hour window, with weekly limits on paid plans. Usage depends on conversation length, model and features. When you hit a limit you can wait, upgrade, or turn on usage credits billed at standard API rates.
Top-ups: "usage credits" at standard API rates on paid plans (Team calls it "extra usage"). The Max 20x price was not stated on the page (only "from $100").
