What Cursor really costs in 2026
Cursor's plans now run from $8 to $200 a month with a shared usage pool, but third-party models are billed on top at API prices. Here is how to estimate your real bill.
The current plans
As of our last check, Cursor lists Free, Plus ($8/month), Premium ($30), Super ($100) and Ultra ($200), plus Teams from $30 per user. Paid tiers share an AI usage pool with Grok that refreshes weekly. Premium is 4x Plus usage, Super 15x and Ultra 50x.
The part people miss
The included pool covers Grok models. Third-party models such as Claude or GPT are available on Premium and above "at API list price", billed separately from the plan. If you rely on those models, your real bill is the plan price plus your API usage.
A short history
In June 2025 Cursor moved Pro from 500 requests a month to $20 of model usage at API rates, then apologised and refunded unexpected charges. Its own estimate then was that $20 covered about 225 Claude Sonnet 4 requests. Pricing has since been restructured again, so check the current page before you commit.
How to keep it under control
Use the included models for routine edits, save expensive third-party models for hard problems, and set spending caps in settings.
